Nowadays the number of patients suffering from anemia i.e. lack of blood is increasing. In Ayurveda this disease is known as “Pandu Rog”. Sometimes it is found as an independent disease and sometimes as a complication of other diseases. This special medicine has been prepared keeping in mind all the reasons from the malfunctioning of the hemoglobin production system to the deficiency of iron. It is equally useful in all types of anemia. It contains a suitable mixture of all the three forms of iron metal along with a group of herbal medicines that absorb iron metal properly in the body.

This makes this medicine quickly effective.

Ingredients: (Each 500 mg film coated tablet contains)

1. Bhringraj ghan – 200 mg
2. Amalaki ghan – 100 mg
3. Haridra ghan – 100 mg
4. Loh bhashma – 20 mg
5. Mandoor bhasma – 10 mg
6. Kasis bhasma – 10 mg
7. Katuki ghan – 30 mg
8. Pippali ghan – 30 mg Bhavana dravya:

10. Bijora nimbu swaras – 2 times
11. Haridra swaras – 1 time

Medicinal Analysis:

Bhringraj Ghan:

Apart from being the best liver tonic described in Ayurveda Samhita, it is also a major medicine for controlling the process of pitta. It is extremely useful in anemia caused by liver and pitta disorders. It contains Wedelolactone which is an excellent anti-hepatotoxicity. It also increases the absorption of dietary and medicinal iron.

Amlaki Ghan:

This is the best chemical medicine. It is a blood enhancer in nature. It contains abundant amount of Vit-C which is very beneficial in digestion and absorption of iron. It is very effective in burning the root of anemia.

Haridra Ghan:

It is equally effective in increasing and purifying the Rakta Dhatu. It strengthens the process of formation of hemoglobin i.e. the best Rakta Dhatu by improving the Dhaatvagni and acts as a protective shield against all types of infections.

Loh Bhasm, Kasis Bhasm and Mandur Bhasm:

These three Bhasm are basically different forms of Iron. On the basis of the process of making them and their use, it is the best in Tridosha Shamak, Blood Enhancer, Balya, Brihaniya and Panduta nashak. The absorption and function of these three is different in patients of different nature. For this reason, after many modifications, these three have been used in this medicine.

Katuki Ghan and Pippali Ghan:

Both of these are very beneficial in removing the main dosha of pandu that is pitta, from the body and improving the functioning of liver, spleen etc. Along with increasing the absorption of iron bhasma, it also mitigates its problems.

Bhavna Dravya:

Assimilating the principle of “Mardanam Gunvardhanam” of Ayurvedic sages, to make this formulation more effective, Bhringraj swaras has been added to it, which is an pandu nashak, liver stimulant, strength enhancer, blood purifier. Bijora lemon juice has been added, which helps in improving iron absorption by increasing the amount of Vit-C. Haridra swaras has been added, which is a blood purifier and blood enhancer.

Dosage :

1-2 tablets twice in a day or As directed by physician
